One of my favorite spots that feels straight out of a movie—golden skies, an ocean breeze, and all the romantic vibes—is Fletcher’s Cove in Solana Beach. This recent cinematic beach session with Natalya and David (who absolutely crushed both their looks) felt like a real-life love story unfolding on film.
Fletcher’s Cove is the perfect destination for stunning beach portraits. Tucked away in the heart of Solana Beach, this little coastal gem offers a wide open shoreline, dramatic cliffs, and tide pools that glisten during golden hour. It’s the kind of place where every step feels like a scene from your favorite cinematic film.
This location gives you the best of everything: soft sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, and unobstructed views of the Pacific—perfect for that cinematic beach session look that so many couples dream of. It’s intimate, it’s dramatic, and it doesn’t require hiking boots. Just you, your person, and the beauty of the west coast.
What really elevated this session was the outfit change halfway through. For the first look, they kept things classic—barefoot on the sand, with a vibe that screamed “sunset stroll with my soulmate.” As the light started shifting, they changed into a second look that was perfect for getting in the water. Cue: full-blown cinematic beach session, take two.
Switching outfits during your engagement session isn’t just about variety for your gallery, it’s a whole mood reset. The first look gave us those warm, glowing, golden-hour portraits. But once they changed and embraced the surf? The energy became untamed, playful, and cinematic. Each outfit allowed them to express a different part of their relationship, from soft and clean to wildly romantic.
We were graced with cinematic skies that started soft and golden, then deepened into the most dreamy blue hour hues. It was like Mother Nature knew we were going for main character energy. The clouds danced, the light wrapped around them just right, and the ocean shimmered like a mirror for their love story.
By the end of the session, I was absolutely drenched—and I would do it a million times over. Because that’s what it takes to get the shot. My favorite part of my job is getting creative with my couples and crafting something that feels uniquely them. Whether that means running into waves, lying in the sand, or getting soaked from head to toe—I’m all in.
