This vintage-inspired downtown Chicago engagement shoot brought all of our cinematic dreams to life! We began with elegant cocktails down on Michigan Avenue, capturing the timeless romance against the backdrop of the city’s iconic landmarks, concluding at North Avenue Beach during blue hour. With the fading light casting a magical glow over the skyline and lake, creating a breathtaking finale for their unforgettable session.
We began our shoot at The Venteux, one of my favorite Chicago bars, where the atmosphere’s sophisticated charm set the perfect tone for our evening. Sipping on beautifully crafted cocktails, we captured the essence of the moment with high ISO settings, emphasizing the nostalgic feel through grainy textures and soft lighting. The vintage aspect was brought to life even more vividly by incorporating film shots, adding an authentic touch to the timeless narrative of their love story.
Sydney and Garret continued their dreamy session by heading to the iconic Wrigley Building on Michigan Avenue, eager to bask in the beauty of golden hour along the riverwalk. Each shot on digital and film preserved these intimate, candid moments, with the river’s gentle flow adding a serene, romantic touch to their story. The timeless elegance of the Wrigley Building and the Chicago River’s natural beauty made these memories even more unforgettable.

After the sun dipped below the horizon, we let loose and ran around the lake with the Chicago skyline glowing behind them. The city lights reflected off the water, creating a dazzling backdrop that highlighted their playful energy and joy.
