Does it get more cinematic than running around in the rain with the love of your life? Kristina and Artam’s downtown Chicago vintage anniversary shoot was a 90’s romance movie come to life. From the vibrant fall leaves to the city architecture, every piece was in place for these two to celebrate a decade of life in the city.
The day began with a stroll through their charming neighborhood surrounded by stunning brick buildings. As we walked along the streets of their neighborhood, accompanied by their precious puppy, it was clear that the moments of laughter, tenderness and joy were a part of their daily life. Being welcomed into Kristina and Artam’s world for such a milestone in their relationship only made me realize how beautiful steady love is.
As we headed down to the park, glimpses of their mutual playfulness brought this shoot to a magic place. From running through the trees to stolen kisses in the middle of the sidewalk, it was clear that they have a kind of vintage love that feels like the movies. When it started to rain at the end of the evening, we knew there was only one thing to do; embrace it! Each shot after that moment was full of movement and spontaneity that is every documentary style photographer’s dream come true.
I am so grateful to Kristina and Artam for trusting me to tell the story that has been a decade in the making. The city provided the perfect environment to capture their consistent, day-in-and-day-out love paired with the beauty of living into the moment.
