This in home couple session in San Diego was a storyteller’s dream. From the quiet moments drinking coffee on the floor to dancing in the kitchen and laughing on the balcony, it was quite easily the coziest session I had the privilege of capturing. Abigail and Fon have been married for four years and are high school sweethearts (dying over this, tugging on all my heartstrings!) They recently moved into a new house and wanted photos of them together doing the traditional things they love in their new home. When they reached out to me, they told me that they have a tradition of doing some sort of photoshoot in their new home, so they always have memories of it and the place they were in together.
We made coffee, read books, had a dance party, and even picked lemons from their lemon tree. For in home sessions, I always pose and work with my couples from a storytelling approach and lean into things that my couples do on a regular basis! This always helps my couples feel more at ease and capture my couples in their element, rather than making them do things that are “natural” or “normal” for them to do in their own home. I absolutely love getting creative with posing and implementing pros to help my couples feel at home (no pun intended).
Abigail left the sweetest review of her time with me: “you are so so talented it truly amazes me that us just goofing off can end up looking so beautiful.”
