Some anniversaries are marked with dinner reservations or souvenirs. Alicia and Andy chose something different; they chose to make a memory.

The evening arrived wrapped in clouds, soft and quiet. Instead of chasing sunshine, we leaned into what the coast offered; layers of blue, cool air, and a calm that felt cinematic from the start. The sky blended into the ocean, creating a moody palette that carried emotion rather than distraction.
This kind of light slows everything down. It invites intimacy. It lets connection take center stage. For Alicia and Andy, the cloudy evening became part of the story, shaping a session that felt reflective, romantic, and honest.
Rather than forcing stiff poses, we explored movement. We tried new shapes, shifted perspectives, and let the environment guide us. At one point, birds swept through the sky and along the shoreline, and Alicia and Andy danced right alongside them; laughing, moving, and forgetting the camera was even there.
Those moments are always my favorite: when direction turns into instinct and presence replaces perfection. Their energy felt effortless, full of warmth and curiosity, like two people still discovering each other even after years together.
To deepen the storytelling, we incorporated film into the photoshoot. Film changes the rhythm of a session. It slows the pace, encourages intention, and adds a layer of nostalgia that feels timeless.
Each frame felt deliberate; rich tones, soft transitions, and texture that digital alone can’t replicate. By blending film with interchangeable with digital, Alicia and Andy’s anniversary session was both modern and classic while also being playful and cinematic.
