As if I needed another reason to love sessions on the beach, Lily and Sam’s engagement session in San Diego will be forever on that list. Every stolen glance and shared smile was effortless to capture as the couple strolled hand in hand, creating a visual symphony of love against the backdrop of the water. With the waves gently crashing on the shore and the sky painted in hues of pink and gold, the atmosphere was nothing short of magical.
Lily and Sam chose Terramar Point in Carlsbad, where the cliffs perfectly overlook the beach. Right away, as the two rode their bikes along the bluffs, I could tell they are a couple that just loves to simply be together. It is the kind of connection that lets each moment transition seamlessly into the next. As the golden hour intensified, even more playfulness emerged.
We made our way down the stairs to the beach right when the sky started to turn from blue to warm tones of orange and pink. The interplay of light and shadow accentuated their joy, creating a series of candid moments that beautifully conveyed the depth of their connection. We played around with some dreamy lens filters that transformed an already beautiful scene to a cinematic portrayal of what it feels like to find the love of your life. We also incorporated film photography to capture the raw moments in time.
As the sun finally dipped below the horizon, leaving behind a palette of pastels, the sand began to mirror the sky. The final kiss of the night was perfectly reflected as nature and love came together.
