Have you ever wondered about how to get more out of your session? More images, more variety, more photos that tell the story of your love. Well adding in separate locations and outfits into your session is one way to do that! I always tell my couples to choose a location that feel like them. Whether that is a spot that you guys always go to like your favorite coffee shop, or a place you have dreamt about going on a date to, like an art museum. Choosing a location that fits your relationship and what you want to feel from your photos is almost as important as choosing the photographer who will capture your love story! A big part of my job is marrying my vintage, documentary style photography with a place that you can feel comfortable in. Choosing more than one location during your session allows us to discover a different side of your love, your personalities, and a way that each location can complement your unique location. So why not add another location to your session!
When it comes to choosing the looks for your session, you want to make sure you are choosing outfits, colors, patterns that compliment your surroundings. I always say the “safe” colors during a session are earth colors (whites, tans, blacks, light blue, burnt orange, link pink, olive green, etc.) I suggest saying away from anything that has bold patterns or wording, neon colors, etc. As this may take away from your photos and draw your eye to your clothing rather than you. It is always a good idea to do an outfit change at your session when you have multiple locations, or if you simply want variety in your photos! Both multiple locations and looks are a great addition to any session and can completely change the feeling of your gallery!
