Some places hold a special place in our hearts; for Madison and Brooklyn, Dave’s Rock in Encinitas, San Diego is one of those cherished spots. A few years ago, this sweet couple visited this popular location and painted a rock together to add to the garden. Dave’s Rock is one of the city’s most unique garden attractions. Moreover, it is popular for its vibrant collection of hand-painted rocks that decorate the landscape. It is a creative and colorful escape that makes this garden truly one-of-a-kind.
When Brooklyn proposed to Madison, Madison knew she wanted to do the same. When it came time for her own proposal, Madison couldn’t resist returning to the place that held so many memories. It felt only fitting that Dave’s Rock would be the perfect setting for an unforgettable San Diego garden proposal.
The day began early, with Madison suggesting to Brooklyn that they head to Moonlight Beach to watch the sunrise. However, there was a surprise detour —Dave’s Rock. While Madison and Brooklyn approached the familiar rock, I hid in a bush nearby, to capture the big moments ahead. Then, in a beautiful twist, Madison revealed a new painted rock that read, “Will you marry me?” Without missing a beat, Brooklyn said, “Yes!”
After the proposal, we made our way to Moonlight Beach, where the morning light was just beginning to stretch over the horizon. We took a mix of digital and film photos, capturing their love in the soft glow of dawn. The beach provided a breathtaking backdrop and intimate setting for them.
To wrap up the session, Madison and Brooklyn waded into the water. The warmth of the sun and the sound of the ocean made for a perfect memory of an incredible day. It truly was the perfect ending to a stunning San Diego garden proposal.
