I recently had the honor of capturing Lauren and AJ’s sunset engagement session in Solana Beach. They expressed wanting to embrace a cinematic feel throughout their sunset engagement session, and Solana Beach was the perfect location for what they had envisioned. The sun’s golden glow bathed the horizon, casting long shadows and creating a soft, dreamlike atmosphere that only happens during golden hour. As blue hour approached, the sky deepened into rich hues of purple and blue—giving the photos an added layer of depth and intimacy.
To help us embrace a cinematic engagement session, we incorporated both digital and film photography. The digital shots allowed us to capture crisp, clear moments; while the film added a layer of nostalgia, giving the photos a timeless, vintage feel. The mix of formats felt like a homage to the past while embracing the present.
The sunset’s golden hues painted the scene, mirroring the couple’s radiant energy. Each frame resonated with an intimate warmth, making the photos feel inviting and full of life. The sun-kissed beach transformed into a natural stage for their love, highlighting their effortless connection with one another.
Lauren and AJ’s retro van provided the perfect element to conclude our session, and I couldn’t have envisioned a more fitting end to their beautiful sunset engagement session in Solana Beach.
