I recently had the honor of documenting a maternity session in Solana Beach for my dear friends, Mana and Chris. Their vision for this special moment was so beautifully heartfelt, and the location—the stunning Solana Beach in San Diego—perfectly reflected their love for the ocean. We added a touch of their playful spirit by incorporating a surfboard and an adorable surfer onesie. To capture the full range of their excitement, Mana and Chris wrote a letter to their baby boy. The heartfelt message was filled with love and excitement for their future. It was so special knowing their son would one day read this and feel the love his parents had for him before he was even born.
As the evening light worked its magic at Solana Beach, the soft, golden sunset transformed the beach into something captivating. We savored the rich warmth of the setting sun, then gracefully transitioned to the serene, cool hues of blue hour. The changing light added an additional emotional depth to the photos. The contrasting phases of the day made every moment feel uniquely special and full of emotion.
Above all, the surfboard and onesie were more than props—they reflected Mana and Chris’ love for the beach and their lifestyle. These symbols beautifully represent the life they are building together. Every detail, from the heartfelt messages to the playful beachside laughter, made this evening incredibly special. The session told the story of their love, their baby, and the exciting journey ahead; and it is one that I will never forget.
