While I was visiting Chicago in January, I was thrilled when Sasha and George reached out to schedule a engagement session. The couple wanted to shoot at the renowned Art Institute of Chicago and Venteux. The stunning architecture and world-renowned art pieces set the perfect environment for the couple.
During their session, we used a mix of digital and film shots. We captured the essence of the space, incorporating paintings, sculptures, and the architecture into their images. The result was a cinematic feel that showcased both the beauty of the art and the couple’s love for each other.
After capturing some beautiful shots on film and digital in the art institute, we headed over to Venteux, a stylish French restaurant in Chicago. The bar was the perfect place for a more relaxed and intimate portion of the session. We ordered drinks, and the cozy atmosphere provided the ideal vibe for the next portion of their engagement session. With Sasha and George in a fresh outfit, we played with lighting—switching between using flash and natural light to create two different moods. The film shots brought a soft, nostalgic vibe, while the digital photos were sharp and vibrant.
It was amazing to see how the energy of the session shifted between the Art Institute and the bar. While each location offered something different. The elegance of the museum, combined with the laid-back ambiance of Venteux, created the perfect contrast for Sasha and George’s engagement session.
